Royal nautical cartographer Violet suffers 99 acts of humiliation from the pirate captain Lysander, who uses love as a cover for revenge against her brother. She fakes her death, destroys his fortress, and breaks free. Lysander, consumed by remorse, is lost at sea as Violet reclaims her career.
