After being forced to commit suicide by the vampire Eric, the werewolf leader Akasha's soul was put into the body of a newly deceased girl by Death. He said that she could be resurrected if she married Eric within 49 days. Akasha was reluctant at first, but she discovered that her family had all been killed by the new leader Francis. Filled with hatred, she agreed to make a deal with Death.
